The South Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is famous for its beautiful beaches, the surf waves, the coral reefs and the extensive rainforests reaching all the way to the beaches. |
The region is well known for its rich multicultural heritage with a strong afrocostarican influence and several Indian tribes living in the remote Talamanca mountains. |
The Hotel Cabinas Tropical is situated in Puerto Viejo, a small village on the beautiful South Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. We are located at the edge of the village, only 150 yards from the ocean. |
The hotel Cabinas Tropical has five double rooms and two triple rooms. All rooms have a private bathroom with hot water (no electric showers), ceiling fans, mosquito nets, quality mattresses and a terrace. |
The triple rooms are equipped with a refrigerator. One triple room has a kitchen. The windows have screens against mosquitoes. |
In the exotic garden you may relax in the hammock or watch hummingbirds, frogs and our own toucan. |
From the hotel it is only a few minutes to walk to all major restaurants and shops of central Puerto Viejo. The hotel is owned and operated by biologist and author of several books Rolf Blancke and his costarican wife Juana. |
