Beaches

The Southern Caribbean coast is known for its beautiful beaches and small palm fringed shady bays. Some beaches like the Playa Negra of Puerto Viejo have been awarded the Bandera Azul Ecológica. Of the many beaches accessible the most beautiful one are in Cahuita National Park, Playa Cocles, Punta Uva, and Manzanillo. In Cahuita and Manzanillo there are good snorkelling possibilities. The beach of Cocles is known for its surf.
